I may have to make a trip to the university later in the week in order to pick up some research materials. I like to keep in contact with my old theology professors and when they get wind of something, they're always kind enough to pass the word onto me.

Also I suppose I should start to look into various cat-things that cats like. I've never really owned a pet before, but I certainly could use the company. Having a two-story house to one's self can be a little quiet at times. The pitter-patter of little feet would be rather welcoming from a long day of work.

It seems the college will be letting out for summer vacation soon. It seems the church is lonliest when people have the most free time to stop by. Perhaps I should take up practicing in the choir again.

When I became a counselor for the church I was aware of the decline in attendance to church services for quite sometime. I certainly don't blame this on the church and its attempts to bring in new members. I simply blame it on today's views of religion and how "bleak" the world seems to those who suffer so greatly in this city. I can't blame the youth of this age and their cynical outlook on life.

If there is at least one thing I can offer is that the church is not here to preach and force feed its teachings, but merely to help those who seem lost and looking for a shoulder to lean upon. I know I take up a task that is impossible when wanting to save today's citizenry from their feelings of hopelessness. Not everyone is easily swayed back from the edge by a few simple words from the church. I do know one thing though and that is I will never use any of these fancy 'gimmicks' to lure the population in. If someone is looking for guidance.. they will come in time.
